Karangahake
Karangahake is an old mining complex of old workings, bridges and tunnels for railways.
There are a few nice walks along the old train track and the old building, a nice afternoon walk.
Preparation
Less than a week to go, flights have been booked since August and campervan booked on arival at Auckland. We have packed everything we need (hopefully) in 2 backpacks. If we have missed anything we will just buy it there. We head to Carlisle on the train from Braystones on Monday, overnight in the County Hotel Carlisle and catch the 6.47am train to Euston on Tuesday 6th Feb. If all goes well we fly out of Heathrow to Frankfurt then to Singapore and finally to Auckland where we pick up our campervan from Barefoot Campers.
